Statutory Sick Pay Entitlements Granted
to Fixed Term Employees
Under the Fixed Term
Employees (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) (Amendment)
Regulations 2008 statutory sick pay entitlements are to be extended
to certain agency workers.
Under the previous rules employees working on fixed
term contracts who were employed through an agency did not
receive the same terms of statutory sick pay as other workers.
However, as of 27th October 2008, agency workers on
contracts of less than three months will be entitled to receive
statutory sick pay during periods of sickness absence
