Contact us now to obtain a fixed quote. In addition to our professional costs various disbursements may be incurred. These are explained below.

Disbursements are payments that must be paid to other parties during the course of the transaction:-

Stamp Duty Land Tax - a form of HM Revenue & Customs taxation payable on the purchase (but not the sale) of properties. All Stamp Duty Land Tax is payable at the time of completion of the purchase. It can, in certain disadvantaged areas, be exempt. If not paid within one month of purchase, a penalty is payable. Click here for current rates of Stamp Duty Land Tax.

Land Registry fees - these are fees payable for registration of the title of your property at HM Land Registry. Typically they are between £40 and £250 depending on the value of the property being purchased up to a purchase value of £500,000.

Search fees - searches are made with various agencies to enable us to find out all we can about the property you are purchasing. Depending upon which searches are carried out, the charge made by those agencies will usually be between £250 and £300.

If a purchase also involves a mortgage transaction where we will be instructed to act on behalf of a bank or vuilding society, an additional fee of £50 + VAT will be charged for the additional work necessary.

Please note that our quoted fees are based upon the assumption that the transaction proceeds in a straight forward manner. If that is not the case, and unusual circumstances arise we shall notify you at the time that a further fee may be payable to cover the cost of the additional work. All our quotes are valid for three months.
